Fundatrice del International Auxiliary Language Association (IALA), illa deveniva secretaria honorari del organisation e gerente del departimento de recercas. Illa recipeva un doctorato honorari de scientia litterari del Universitate de Syracuse, e esseva un membro honorari del societate Phi Beta Kappa. Illa anque esseva le vice-presidente del World Service Council del YWCA de USA.
