Serpentes[2] es es un subordine de reptiles carnivore elongate, sin gambas, del subordine Serpentes Linnaeus, 1758 (o Ophidia) que pote esser distinguite del lacertas sin gambas per lor manco de palpebras e aures externe. Como tote le squamates, serpentes es ectothermic, vertebratos amniote coperite per scalias. Le serpentes es inapte a vivere in un climate frigide; in le zonas temperate, quando le hiberno veni, illos se abandona in un sorta de coma lethargic usque al fin del hiberno.
Le scientia que studia le serpentes es appellate ophiologia e su studiosos es appellate ophiologos.
