In chimia organic, methenium (de methyl-enium (en)), methyl cation o methylium es un cation de formula CH+3.
Pote esser vidite como:
- un methyleno radical (:CH2) con un additional proton (H+);
- un methyl radical (•CH3) con un electron removite. Es un carbocation (en) e un enium (en) ion. Illo le face le plus simple del carbenium iones.[1]
