Su vidua era Caitlin Macnamara (qui ille ha sposate in 1937–1953). Illes habeva duo filios, Llewelyn Edouard Thomas (1939–2000) e Colm Garan Hart Thomas (1949–2012), e un filia, Aeronwy Bryn Thomas (1943–2009).
