Robert Burns (25 de januario 1759–21 de julio 1796) esseva un poeta romantic e es le poeta national de Scotia. Ille nasceva a Ayr e scribeva in un mixtura de scots e anglese. Le poeta habeva grande successo critic con Poems, Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect (1786) ma ille era plus tarde constringite a laborar in su ferma e como perceptor de impostos. Ille moriva a Dumfries.[1]
