Robert Burns (Allloway, Scotia le 25 de januario 1759 – Dumfries, Scotia le 21 de julio 1796) esseva un poeta romantic e es le poeta national de Scotia. Ille nasceva apud Ayr e scribeva in un mixtura de scots e anglese. Le poeta habeva grande successo critic con Poems, Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect (1786) ma ille esseva plus tarde constringite a laborar in su ferma e como perceptor de impostos. Ille moriva a Dumfries.[1]
