Ophidascaris robertsi es un specie de Nematoda vivente in Australia. Es un parasito del serpente Morelia spilota (en).
Su cyclo de vita usa plure hospites:[3]
- Morelia spilota (en) es le hospite definitive: le verme adulte vive in su gastrointestinal tracto e dispersa su ovos in feces del serpente;
- iste feces contamina diverse parve mammiferos (hospites intermediari) ubi le larva pote attinger usque 7–8 cm de longe in lor thoracic o abdominal organos;[4]
- finalmente, le python se contamina quando illo ede su preda (le parve mammifero).
Human pote esser un hospite accidental del larva. Un caso es documentate in 2023: un femina de 64 annos habeva un larva in su cerebro. Sole colliger plantas Tetragonia tetragonioides (en) ubi le serpente pote se trovar. Post retiramento del larva, esseva tractate con antihelminticos e dexamethasona.[3]
