Ille es le "nepote" (de facto, un cosino) e le filio adoptate de Bilbo Baggins, le heroe e personage titular del romance per Tolkien Le Hobbit.
Con su jardinero e amico, Samwise Gamgee, Frodo viagia del Contea a Mordor pro destruer le Anello Unic, un potente artefacto magic forgiate per le senior obscur Sauron.
